Infant

The infant department is a delightful child centred, secure environment housed in the original Oak House. Small classes result in individual attention and this, in turn, ensures all children understand and progress.infant-girl-with-crayons-landscape

Our reception classes continue their learning through the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and follow guidelines for the seven areas of learning. Our children then progress to the Key Stage One curriculum.

Our Key Stage One curriculum follows on from the Early Years Foundation Stage taught in the reception year. In years 1 and 2 children follow the Key Stage One curriculum, together with many other learning strategies to develop their individual learning.

Children continue to be taught by our specialist teachers in physical education, French and music, with the addition of ICT from reception onwards. Children are given many opportunities to gain confidence in all areas for their future development.

Relationships are excellent at all levels, resulting in an inclusive and tolerant community.’ ISI Inspection 2016
