Minibeast Fun

This week Reception have started a new topic on minibeasts.

They spent time exploring items associated with mini beast in our `What`s in the box? activity.

They asked lots of interesting questions and wrote in our class floor book; what they`d like to learn about minibeasts.

The children wrote a list of instructions on how to make a wormery.

They read and followed their instructions and made their own wormerys to keep in class, the best part was hunting for the worms.

They read the story `The Very Busy Spider` by Eric Carle and learnt interesting facts about spiders. The children enjoyed writing their own stories about spiders and creating webs for their spiders to live in.

We learnt how to make tally charts and bar graphs which showed the favourite minibeats amongst the children in the class.
