At St Pius X Catholic Preparatory School, our vision is to have a holistic approach to education. We focus on the following:

Our Prep school is committed to educating the whole child academically, physically, socially, culturally and morally, in and beyond the classroom. The aim is to produce thoughtful, healthy and considerate young people who are as confident well-rounded and resilient as they are well-informed.

Through the 'whole child' approach we understand that our pupils' education and life outcomes are dependent upon their access to safe and welcoming learning environments and rich learning experiences in and out of school.

We focus on the following key areas as part of educating the whole child:

Through learning about the above, our pupils have great self-knowledge and understanding who they are, their own strengths and further strengthen areas that are need of development. Our pupils understand the world better and have an appreciation of nature and how it workss. Pupils know what is involved in building great relationships within communities, they appreciate history, tradition and values.

Our pupils learn to come up with new and original ideas through creative thinking. Pupils learn to problem-solve, take risks and learn from mistakes. Pupils learn to collaborate by working with each other towards a common goal. They do this through communicating, negotiating and drawing on different strengths of the whole group. Our pupils share information, ideas, thoughts and emotions with others. Through good communication, our pupils understand the world better around us as well as one another's perspectives.

Pupils at St Pius X learn to be independent by setting their own goals and managing time well. Our pupils learn to think for themselves, ask probing questions and stand up for what they believe in. 

St Pius X pupils take risks, embrace mistakes and are resilient.

Our Mission

Since 1955, we have empowered our pupils with a deep respect for lifelong learning. At St Pius X, pupils are given attention in core areas of development ensuring that our pupils have great confidence, learn skills beyond their age and are happier in our school environment.

We recognise that all of our pupils are unique and precious, and so we strive to meet their needs and develop their individual gifts.
